BRUNSWICK – Oxford resident Richard Bennett has recently joined the Maine League of Conservation Voters board of directors.

“I am delighted that Mr. Bennett has chosen to join us,” said Board President Dan Amory. “He brings impressive experience to our effort to preserve what makes Maine special. With his help the league will be even more successful at making natural resource protection a political priority.”

Bennett is a former president of the Maine Senate and has served four terms in the Senate and two terms in the Maine House of Representatives. In 1994 he was the Republican nominee for U.S. Congress in Maine’s second district.

Bennett serves as a consultant with Lens Governance Advisors, PA. He also is a principal of the Corporate Library, LLC; an independent director of Biddeford Internet Corp.; a nonexecutive director of Trucost plc; and a director of EnterpriseMaine. He is a private pilot and enjoys long-distance running.

Bennett lives in Oxford with his wife, Karen, his daughter, Abigail, and his son, Nathaniel.

Independent and nonpartisan, the Maine League of Conservation Voters has analyzed and published the environmental voting records of each member of the Maine House of Representatives and Senate since 1986.

The League also endorses and works to elect pro-environment candidates. For more information, visit www.mlcv.org or call 373-1200.
