AUBURN – Temple Shalom Nursery School will host an open house with a multicultural theme at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29.

The open house will feature a story time and music hour with the Lewiston Public Library’s Cindy Larock, former “story lady” and new director of the Multicultural Center at the library.

“This is going to be a great time with stories, music, crafts and great munchies,” said Judy Jones and Claudette Turcotte, teachers at the preschool. “We really try to help the children develop social and communication skills above all else. These are abilities that will stay with them for the rest of their lives and that will help them in every aspect of it.”

The school will open its doors to a younger crowd come Jan. 1. Children who will turn 3 by Jan. 1 and who are potty trained will be able to enter the program on that day. For more information about the open house or about Temple Shalom Preschool, call 786-4201. The preschool is located at 74 Bradman St., just off of Center Street.
