TURNER – The Turner Historical Museum, Library and Art Center will host a holiday celebration on Sunday, Dec. 4, with a storm date of Dec. 11. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Leavitt Institute building.

Activities will begin with wreath-making at 10 a.m. for those wishing to learn how to make their own holiday wreath. Ice cream will be made outside the building beginning at 11 a.m. and children will be offered the chance to help make it as well as sample it when done.

At 12:30 p.m. a teacher from the 1800s will conduct a class as it was back in that time upstairs in the old schoolhouse. From 2 to 3 p.m., a horse-drawn wagon will give rides around the roadway outside the building.

Mrs. Claus will read stories to all those interested in the library. The readings will take place at 1 and 2:30 p.m. There will be a cookie walk from noon to 5 p.m.

The Art Center will have an open house from 2 to 5 p.m.

Throughout the day, children may spend time stringing popcorn and cranberries to decorate a tree from 3 to 4 p.m. There will be hot cider and cookies available through the afternoon.

There will be a fee for making the wreaths, but greens, red berries and pine cones will be on sale for those who would like to take some home for their own holiday decorating. Donations will be accepted for the ice cream and wagon ride. Turner history mugs, hats and sweatshirts will be on sale as will raffle tickets for an assortment of items.
