The Junior Volunteer Program is alive and well and growing at Philip W. Sugg Middle School. Students volunteer in a variety of capacities in and out of school. Students assist as reading buddies, during PTO functions and work on teacher projects at home. “The Junior Volunteer Program is an extension of our Volunteer Program for adults” according to Monica Millhime, Community Resource and Volunteer Coordinator for the Lisbon School Department. “Most of our student Volunteers were introduced to the program by their parents.” “Volunteers within our community and our schools are a galvanized force of parents and students making a difference.” Training sessions for Volunteers are held on a monthly basis. For further information on the program, contact Mrs. Millhime at 353-4132 or email [email protected].
