JAY – The Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post 3335 Auxiliary received a bronze award for giving the third largest donation to Operation Uplink. All who attended the Valentine dinner and dance in February share the award.

The Auxiliary mailed a check in the amount of $1,100 to national headquarters for the program that keeps active-duty military personnel and hospitalized veterans in touch with their families and loved ones by providing them with a free phone cards.

Operation Uplink continues to purchase phone cards and distributes them to servicemen and women who are separated from those they care about. Millions of phone cards have been distributed since 1996.

Operation Uplink has been supported and sustained solely by donations – the majority of which come from VFW and Auxiliary members.
