Greg Moore has made it to The Show.

The 23-year-old Lisbon native received the ultimate reward for his explosive start to the 2007-08 season Monday, when he was promoted to the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League.

Moore, a 6-foot-1, 225-pound forward, was among the leading scorers in the American Hockey League at the time of his recall. In 14 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack, Moore had seven goals and seven assists for 14 points to go with a plus-9 rating.

He led the Wolf Pack in each of those categories. The seven goals were tied for fifth in the AHL. Moore played two seasons at St. Dominic Regional High School, contributing to a pair of state championships, before relocating to Michigan to skate with the United States National Team development program. He then signed with the University of Maine.

In his four-year career at Maine, Moore registered 66 goals and 40 assists. He was one of 10 finalists in 2005-06 for the Hobey Baker Award, presented to the nation’s premier college hockey player.

He also has starred in international play. Moore won a gold medal at the World Under-18 Championships and later helped Team USA capture its first-ever gold at the World Junior Championships in 2004.

Moore produced eight goals and 17 assists in 79 games last winter, his first full professional season. Over portions of three campaigns with Hartford, Moore combined for 18 goals and 31 assists in the regular season and playoffs.

Calgary selected Moore in the fifth round of the June 2003 NHL Entry Draft with the 143rd overall pick. Moore was traded to the Rangers less than a year later in a multi-player deal that shipped NHL veteran Chris Simon to the Flames.

The Rangers are 9-7-1, currently one point behind Philadelphia for first place in the NHL’s Atlantic Division. Their next game is Wednesday at division rival New Jersey.
