AUBURN – Steven Rouillard completed his hat trick when he sent a feed from Tyler Robitaille into the back of the net with 10 minutes remaining in the second period to lift Leavitt to a 3-2 victory over Gardiner in a battle between Class B hockey powers.

The game featured the first-place teams in Eastern and Western Maine.

Rouillard recorded a hat trick for the Hornets (4-1) to seal the win. Richard Thibault made 23 saves for the win.

Bass Chadwick and Clinton Peckham scored for Gardnier (4-1-1), while Chris Howe turned aside 16 shots between the pipes.

Lewiston 16, Oak Hill-Lisbon 0

LEWISTON – Casey Poussard compiled five goals and three assists as Lewiston routed Oak Hill-Lisbon 16-0 in hockey action Wednesday.

Matt Letourneau, Jordon Bourgoin and Jon Roy contributed three goals apiece for the Blue Devils (5-0).

Senior goalie Alex Lafreniere made six saves for the shutout win, while senior goalie Kyle Watson turned back 63 saves for the embattled Raider-Greyhounds (0-6) in the loss.

Bonny Eagle 3, Poland/Gray-NG 1

GORHAM – Kayle Hamilton scored two goals and assisted on a third to lead Bonny Eagle to a 3-1 triumph over Poland/Gray-New Gloucester.

Nate Becker scored the lone goal for the Patriotic Knights (5-3) on a feed from Sam Mayer. Goalie Sean Bilodeau made 12 saves. Scots goalie was credited with 17 stops.

Boys’ basketball

Edward Little 53, Oxford Hills 42

AUBURN – Junior forward Cory Theriault recorded 16 points to lift Edward Little to a 53-42 victory over Oxford Hills in KVAC boys’ basketball action Wednesday.

The Red Eddies (4-3) surged in the second quarter to take a 27-22 halftime lead. Senior guard Kyle Philbrook scored 14 points, while Ben Hartnett added 10 points in a game that featured nine 3-pointers for Edward Little.

Jordan Farrar was the leading scorer in a well-balanced offense for the Vikings (3-4).

Lewiston 49, Brunswick 39

LEWISTON – Jarrid Palmer popped in a game-high 19 points to propel Lewiston to a 49-39 victory over Brunswick in a KVAC boys’ basketball matchup Wednesday.

Lewiston jumped out to a 29-16 advantage in the first half, rested a bit in the third quarter then used a 17-11 run in the fourth to seal the win.

Mason Giroux and Eddie Myers chipped in for the Blue Devils (3-4) with six points apiece.

The Dragons (3-4) were paced by Conor Briesacher with 15 points, the only player to reach double figures.

Mt. Ararat 80, Leavitt 43

TOPSHAM – Shawn Dostie netted 16 points Wednesday to lead Mt. Ararat to a 80-43 rout over Leavitt.

Cam Vermette chipped in for the Eagles (4-2) with 14 points, while Brandon Almy added 10.

The Hornets (0-6) were paced by Cam Griffin with a game-high 19 points, the only player in double figures.

Leavitt didn’t score its first field goal until midway through the second period. Mt. Ararat held a 42-19 advantage at the half and was never challenged.

Girls’ basketball

Mt. Abram 46, Jay 30

SALEM – Kenni Norton netted 18 points and made eight steals to lead Mt. Abram to a 46-30 victory over Jay.

McKayla Burbank chipped in for the Roadrunners (3-2) with 10 points and seven assists.

The Tigers (4-2) were paced by Hillary Dean with 10 points, while Morgan Turner added nine. Mt. Abram held a 19-point lead at the half.

Mt. Ararat 52, Leavitt 46

TURNER – Ariel LaDuc drained a game-high 20 points Wednesday night to propel Mt. Ararat to a 52-46 victory over Leavitt in a KVAC tilt.

Hannah Fenwick chipped in for the Eagles (2-4) with 13 points. The Hornets (0-7) were paced by Courtney Andreson with 15 points, while Abbey Randall added 11.

Camden Hills 70, Oak Hill 49

CAMDEN – Kristin Tedford poured in 23 points as Camden Hills sailed to a 70-49 victory over Oak Hill in KVAC girls’ basketball action Wednesday.

Tedford started things off with a 3-point field goal, and controlled the pace of play for the Windjammers (4-3) for much of the contest. Allie Parent contributed 15 points for Camden Hills.

Freshman forward Maggie Sabine notched a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Raiders (1-6), while junior center Carrie Hayden pitched in with 10 points.

Monmouth 54, Winthrop 25

MONMOUTH – Senior guard Jenn Lola recorded 16 points as Monmouth galloped off with a 54-25 triumph over Winthrop in MVC girls’ game.

The Mustangs (6-0) kicked up a bit of dust in the second quarter (17-2), taking advantage of several turnovers to take a 31-11 halftime lead. Senior guard Jill Armstrong hit double digits for Monmouth with 10 points.

Anna Smithgall led the Ramblers (2-5) with eight points on four field goals in the loss.
