NORTH WATERFORD – April has been declared as “Grange Month,” and the Waterford Grange on Valley Road is inviting the community to learn more about the Grange, programs and activities.

The Grange will award the “Grange Community Citizen Award,” given each year to the individual or organization that has exhibited community spirit by their volunteer work.

This year the Waterford Sandlot Committee will be recognized for its contributions. The group has been able to inspire others to contribute their time and money to construct a ball field, walking track and playground for the town. It has provided a space for baseball, softball and soccer, as well as other activities.

The open house and award ceremony will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at the North Waterford Grange Hall. Community members are invited. The free event includes refreshments and musical entertainment.
