WOOLWICH – The Nequasset Lake Watershed Improvement Project-Phase I Steering Committee and Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District will host a free gravel road maintenance workshop at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at Two Fork Lane.

Information about gravel road maintenance will be available and there will be a demonstration on how some of the maintenance can be done with the use of a Front Runner.

A Front Runner is a grader/rake that attaches onto the front of a -ton pick-up truck utilizing a snowplow mount. The Front Runner can be used for road grading, finish grading and snow removal on soft roads.

The demonstration will be done by Dan Landerville, private contractor who has been trained in the proper use of the vehicle.

Everyone will have the opportunity for hands-on experience. Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District owns a Front Runner that is available for rent to those who have been trained.

The workshop is free, but preregistration is required. The registration deadline is Wednesday, April 29. To sign up, contact Susan Gammon at 753-9400, ext. 404, e-mail [email protected] or mail requests to PO Box 1938 Lewiston, ME 04241.
