Performing Friday
Friday, June 5, Dana Gross will perform with special guest Jesse Pilgrim, formerly Pecos Bill, above, at She Doesn’t Like Guthries in Lewiston. Both are from Portland. Drawing on the wealth of music stored in the hills of Appalachia and the Mississippi Delta, Gross creates lyrical songs rich in earth imagery, heart and struggle. Pilgrim’s voice and style are reminiscent of Johnny Cash. The show starts at 9 p.m.; there is no cover. For more information, call 376-3344 or visit myspace,com/guthriesplace.
