AUBURN (AP) – An Auburn business owner plans to seek the Republican nomination in Maine’s 2nd Congressional District in the 2010 election.

Jason Levesque said Thursday that the focus of his campaign will be to energize central and northern Maine’s economy so families don’t have to leave the state for opportunities elsewhere.

The 34-year-old Levesque is the founder and president of Argo Marketing Group, which provides services to telemarketing centers. An Army veteran, he graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn, studied at the University of Southern Maine and has family roots in northern and eastern Maine.

The 2nd District seat is held by fourth-term Democrat Mike Michaud.
