LISBON — The Lisbon Democratic Committee is hosting a nonpartisan Health, Home and Community event to address senior issues. The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15 at the Lisbon High School
There will be speakers from Sen. Michaud’s office, legislator Dale Crafts and representatives from Community Concepts, SeniorsPlus, Lisbon assistance, the Merrymeeting Share Corp. and more.
Light refreshments will be served. Space is limited and there is no fee to attend. To register, call 353-7306.
VFW meeting
LEWISTON — The Longley-Dionne VFW Post 9150 will hold their monthly meeting Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the Multi Purpose Center. All officers and members are encouraged to attend.
The agenda will include Maureen Higgins from the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at Central Maine Medical Center at 6 p.m. The VFW meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. and members are encouraged to be present at 6 p.m.
Upcoming events are poppy sales, Veteran’s Day and other veterans functions and activities.

Student, parent night
LISBON — Lisbon High School’s annual Senior Student/Parent Night will be held at 6:30 p.m.Wednesday, Sept. 16, in the high school library. There will be a presentation on the process of applying to college and what colleges expect of their applicants. Students are highly encouraged to attend.
Square dance
WINTHROP —
The Squire Town Squares square dance club is opening it’s new season
with two free introductory classes to be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Wednesdays, Sept. 16 and 23.
Anyone interested in
exercising both their body and brain and with little or no square
dancing experience are invited to join the club and their new caller,
Walter Bull, to learn to square dance.

Bridge play
LEWISTON —
The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on Sept. 8 at the
Multi-Purpose Center. North/South winners in Flight A were: first, Fred
Letourneau and David Lock; second, Janet Arey and Linda Leotsakos;
third, Eileen Potvin and Della Starbird. Flight B winners were Eileen
Potvin and Della Starbird.
East/West winners in Flight A were: first, Marta Clements and Nancy
Farmer; second, Ron and Connie Reynolds; third, Jeanine Kivus
and Rosemarie Goodwin. Flight B winners were Ron and Connie Reynolds.
Another game will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the center.
The
club also met on Sept. 9 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners in
Flight A were: tied at first, Patricia Quinn and Rosemarie Goodwin with
Fred Letourneau and Sherry Hinckley; third, John Hackett and Leslie
Buzzell; fourth, Anita Perrier and Lucille Theriault. Flight B winners
were Claire Lyons and Anna Vitiello.
Another game will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Schooner
Estates. A partner is guaranteed at both games. For further
