LEWISTON — Capt. Victor Gaudreau recently retired from the Lewiston Fire Department, a 37-year veteran.

He joined the department in 1974, was promoted to lieutenant in 1986 and to the rank of captain in 1989. Until his retirement on April 30, Gaudreau was assigned the area of “tools and equipment,” responsible for all Fire Department equipment.

Gaudreau began his career in the LFD shortly after graduating from Lewiston High School in 1968; he received his associate degree in business administration from the University of Maine at Portland in 1970, and continued his education by enrolling in numerous fire technology courses, including sessions at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Md.
