LISBON — The Stanton Bird Club of Lewiston and Auburn will host the first of seven twice-monthly bird walks on Wednesday, May 30. All walks are from 8-11 a.m., and are free and open to all.
For this first walk, leaders Stan and Joan DeOrsey ask participants to meet at 8 a.m. at the Promenade Mall parking lot, near Staples, 855 Lisbon St., Lewiston. All will travel to the Papermill and Ricker Farm Trails in Lisbon to see migrant birds. The DeOrseys will identify and comment on birds seen and heard.
Each walk is approximately two miles long, and on an even and dry surface. The DeOrseys suggest that participants bring binoculars and dress in layers, to be flexible for the weather. They will hold the walk even if it is drizzling, but if there is steady rain at 7 a.m. and it is projected to continue to 10 a.m., the walk is canceled.
