HUDSON, N.H. — A New Hampshire jail inmate has been accused of triggering the sprinkler in his cell and flooding it, and then punching an employee.

Nathaniel Rines was arrested in Hudson on a charge of driving while intoxicated. While he was waiting for bail, the sprinkler was activated.

Police say when officers tried to get Rines out, they said he punched the detention specialist twice and ripped his clothes. Then, he allegedly tried to bite the specialist and an officer.

He faces additional charges, including unlawful interference with a fire apparatus, assault by a prisoner and attempted simple assault.
