Register for snow tubing trip
HARRISON — Harrison Parks and Rec. is hosting a trip to the Seacoast Adventure Park in Windham for Harrison and Waterford children in grades 2 and up during school vacation week on Wednesday, Feb. 18.
The bus leaves the Harrison Town Office parking lot at 12:15 and returns at 4:15. Tubing has been reserved from 1:30-3:30. The cost is $18 which includes transportation and ticket. Forms have been sent out through the Harrison and Waterford schools. Forms can also be found at the Harrison Town Office.
Children must be 4 feet tall to ride on a tube alone, otherwise they must be accompanied by an adult. Helmets are recommended.

Valentine cookie decorating at library
WEST PARIS — The West Paris Library invites “children of all ages” to make a cookie valentine for a special someone. Heart sugar cookies can be decorated at the library from 1:30 to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13.
Also, Valentine storybooks will be read to the young children who come to the library to make a cookie valentine.

Children’s Festival is Feb. 14
FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Children’s Task Force will hold its annual Children’s Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at the UMF student center.
There will be a low-cost food court, with pizza, ice cream, popcorn and water or juice. Activities in the hands-on room include face painting, games and crafts.
The ever-popular cookie decorating will be back for the little ones and the Nintendo Wii.
The Gross Motor room will have fun stuff like mats for tumbling. Parents can also find a quiet corner for reading a book with their child.
There will be music and entertainment in the North dining hall throughout the day. C.H.I.P.S. will present a brief video and fingerprints for child identification.
Public supper at Trinity United
FARMINGTON — A public supper of baked beans and casseroles will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Trinity United Methodist Church.

Fur Ball family dance on Feb. 14
FARMINGTON — The “Fur Ball: A Family Dance” will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at UMF South Dining Hall.
Tickets are $20 per family, or $5 per person, and will be available at the door.
The event benefits the Franklin County Animal Shelter.
VFW, Auxiliary plan spaghetti supper
HARRISON — The Ronald G. St. John VFW Post 9328 and the Auxiliary 9328 will hold a public spaghetti supper for Valentine’s Day from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14.
Bring your sweetheart out for a home-cooked meal. Cost is $10 per adult, children under 12 are $5. Coffee will be available; if you would like wine to go with your spaghetti, please bring your own.
The VFW is on Waterford Road, Route 35.
Public supper at ‘Green Church’
MEXICO — A public supper will be served at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Mexico Congregational Church, UCC (the “Green Church”).
The menu is chicken with cheese linguine, vegetables and homemade pies. Take-outs will be available at 5:30; call 364-8603.
The price for adults is $8 and for children under 12, $3.
Italian dinner benefits softball teams
OTISFIELD — The Otisfield Softball Teams will have an Italian dinner fundraiser at the Otisfield Community Hall on Route 121 on Saturday, Feb. 14. Dinner will run from 5 to 7 p.m. and is free; however, donations are gratefully accepted.
The menu includes lasagna, spaghetti, salad, bread and dessert. A gluten-free choice will be available.
All the money raised will be used for equipment, uniforms and team sweatshirts.
The supper is taking place after the Otisfield Winter Carnival.

Honey Bee Club’s workshop
PARIS — Oxford Hills Honey Bee Club will hold a workshop at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Oxford County Extension Center, 9 Olson Road.
Carol Cottrill, master beekeeper, will do a presentation on “gadgets and gizmos” used in beekeeping.

Snowshoeing fun on Feb. 15
NORWAY — Stephens Memorial Hospital will offer “Snowshoeing is a Family Affair!” from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15. Attendees will meet at Roberts Farm Preserve, conditions permitting.
Carl Costanzi, program coordinator of 5210 Let’s go! Oxford County, will lead participants through the trails at Roberts Farm.
Snowshoes and poles will be available if needed.

Country Valentines Show is Feb. 15
WESTBROOK — Down East Country Music Association will present a Country Valentines Show on Sunday, Feb. 15, at the American Legion Post 197, 300 Conant St. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Show starts at 12:30 p.m.
Donation at the door is $5.
There will be a food bar, 50/50 drawing and raffles.
Entertainment will be provided by The Tennessee Bound Award Winners of 2014.
