LEWISTON — Registration for the fall semester has started at Lewiston Adult Education. More than 100 courses will be available, from rug braiding to business computing.

Classes in Lewiston Adult Education’s work force training certificate programs will provide relevant skills for the job market. They include clerical, accounting assistant, medical officer certificates as well as certified nursing assistant.

The College Transition Program is a free class that allows adults interested in pursuing a college degree to refresh their skills. Academic and college prerequisite classes will be available for members of the community interested in earning their high school diploma or high school equivalency credential.

New additions this semester include cake decorating, which will start with how to make butter cream frosting and finish with wedding cakes and building tiers.

People looking for a fitness class with a lighter side can check out Laughter Yoga. It will combine laughter and breathing exercises, and does not require prior yoga skills.

Beginning and advanced French classes will allow residents to brush up on their skills or pick up a language they always wanted to learn.

Computer classes include a computers-for-seniors class and sought-after computer applications such as Excel I and Excel II.

English courses for speakers of other languages will be available and a citizenship preparation course is free for the public.
