DEAR SUN SPOTS: Santa Claus has made an appearance at a church in Lisbon Falls in the past where the children can have breakfast and have their photos taken. Will that happen again this year? Thank you. — Kids looking forward to seeing Santa.

ANSWER: Breakfast with Santa will be held from 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Lisbon United Methodist Church, 14 School St., Lisbon Falls. This will be a free pancake breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus for local children and their families. Children can have their picture taken with Santa “before he gets really busy with toy deliveries.” Although admission is free, good-will donations will be accepted. For more information, contact pr@lisbonunitedmc.com.

DEAR SUN SPOTS:  There is an old mansion that gets decorated for the holidays each year and it is open to the public. Do you know when this will be? Thanks. — No Name, No Town.

ANSWER: You didn’t mention what town, and there may be others, but Sun Spots knows of three mansions that hold open houses during the holidays. One is the Victoria Mansion at 109 Danforth St., Portland. The mansion is open daily for tours from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Sunday, Jan. 3. It is not open on Christmas or New Year’s Day. Various rates of admission are charged at the door. For more information contact, lhannington@victoriamansion.org.

The second mansion that gets all decorated for the holidays and hosts an open house is the Foss Mansion at 19 Elm St., Auburn. The mansion’s “Winter Splendor Open House” will take place from 1-7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 12 and 13. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students. For more information, contact camashaw@myfairpoint.net.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Good morning! I want to thank two lovely ladies who paid it forward last night at the Chick-A-Dee restaurant. My husband and I were celebrating our 19th anniversary and they paid for our dinner. How nice and unexpected. We thanked them and I gave them a big hug. So thank you again from a couple in Hebron.
