MINOT — West Minot Grange No. 42 will host Maple Weekend with an all-you-can eat breakfast and a craft and vendor fair from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 25, and Sunday, March 26. 

Proceeds will benefit the the Grange’s Start-Up Scholarship Program.

NEW SHARON — The New Sharon masons will serve a benefit public spaghetti dinner for the Cape Cod Hill School Parent Teacher Organization from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at the Mason Hall on Route 2.

NORWAY — The Norway Knights of Columbus will hold a hot dog and bean supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at Saint Catherine of Sienna Church, 32 Paris St., Route 26.

The proceeds of the dinner will benefit Liam Gallagher of Paris, who is a Seminarian studying for the Priesthood for the Diocese of Portland.

Tickets are available at the door.

NORWAY — Bolsters Mills United Methodist Church and the Norway Grange will serve weekly community breakfasts from 8 to 9 a.m. Saturdays at the American Legion Hall, 212 Main St.

This is a location change from the Norway Grange, and will be in effect through the winter months.

UMaine Extension’s ‘Cooking for Crowds’

PARIS — University of Maine Cooperative Extension will offer two opportunities to take “Cooking for Crowds — Food Safety Training for Volunteer Cooks.”

The courses are scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesdays, May 3 and 10, at UMaine Extension in Oxford County, 9 Olson Road.

The workshop offers up-to-date information on how to handle, transport, store and prepare foods safely for large group functions such as soup kitchens, church suppers, food pantries and community fundraisers. Participants will receive “Cooking for Crowds,” a manual specifically designed for volunteer cooks, certificate of attendance, posters, and an instant-read thermometer. This class meets the Good Shepherd Food-Bank food safety training requirements.

The $15 fee includes materials.
