RUMFORD — The Rumford Association for the Advancement of the Performing Arts will present a mystery dinner theater Friday and Saturday, April 28 and 29, at the Eagles Hall in Rumford.

The setting is the luxury cruise ship “Grand Jubilation” in the Nancy Bond mystery, “The Conundrum on the Crackerjack Cruise.” As the ship sets sail to the Bahamas, a unique collection of characters will be introduced.

The guests will also meet the ship’s crew, including cruise director Loralee LeVeque, played by Debbie Moon; her assistant, Sasha, played by Arita Zitoli; stateroom steward Nigel, played by Jason Jolin; and Capt. Randall Whitfield, played by Jim Robertson.

There will be many twists and turns when a crime is committed. The audience will help solve the mystery through interviewing suspects and voting for who they believe is guilty.

Directing is RAAPA veteran Connie Venskus of Rumford. Shirli Heald-Allen of returns as director of the RAPPA chorus, which will play an integral part in the story as the ship’s “floor show.” Gail Door of Mexico will be the accompanist.

Doors open at 5 p.m. for a social hour with cash bar & hors d’oeuvres. At 6 p.m. a dinner of bacon-wrapped pork loin, mashed potatoes, carrots & corn, tossed salad and a brownie sundae for dessert will be served. A vegetarian entrée is available by request.

Tickets are $30 and include the dinner, show, and gratuities. Reservations can be made by calling Anita Murphy @ 369-0205.
