LEWISTON — SeniorsPlus is offering dining site designed to cater to the Somali community in the St. Mary’s Nutrition Center at 208 Bates St.

The public is invited to attend lunches presented there on Mondays (except holidays) at 11:30 a.m.

AUBURN — VFW Post 1603 will serve a turkey dinner with all of the fixings from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 5, at 588 Minot Ave.

Cost: $7 for adults, $3 for children 10 and younger.

AUBURN — Danville Junction Grange will serve a bean and casserole supper at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at the Grange Hall at 15 Grange St.

AVON — A potluck lunch and live auction on Saturday, May 6, at the Avon Town House will benefit resident Marie Pillsbury. 

Lunch will be at 1 p.m. with the auction to follow at 2 p.m. Tom Saviello will call.

Pillsbury had a complete knee replacement late in 2016, and was recovering nicely when she broke her other leg recently. The proceeds from this event will help her with home modifications and medical needs as she works toward recovery.

GRAY — Post 86, American Legion, will serve a public supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at the Legion, Hall, 15 Lewiston Road.

GREENE — The Greene Baptist Church invites will host its spring picnic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at 102 Main Street.

There will be games and crafts aplenty for the whole family.

Treasure seekers are invited to the yard giveaway, where everything is free for the taking. The free clothes closet will be open as well.

Food will be provided, and the event is held rain or shine.

The Holy Cross Knights of Columbus, Council 12652, will resume Take Out Beans in September. 

Cost: Prices will range from $3 for a pint of beans to $10 for “the works” with a quart of beans.

MECHANIC FALLS — The Mechanic Falls Historical Society and Anglican Church of the Transfiguration to hold a ham and bean public supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at the church, 64 Elm St.

Proceeds from the supper will benefit both the church and the historical society.
