Retired educators to meet

LEWISTON — The Androscoggin County Retired Educators Association will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the Ramada Inn on Pleasant Street.

Educators should note the change of time for this meeting as it is the annual scholarship auction. Members are asked to bring baked goods, garden products, books, home-made items and other crafts.

The turkey dinner will cost $11.

Educators are continuing to collect nonperishable food items and money to be donated to a local food pantry.

Dues are still being collected. Due are $10 for educators and $6 for non-educator spouses. All educators are welcome; they need not have taught in Androscoggin County or even in the state.

Kids making rain at LPL

LEWISTON — Percy Jackson and the Weather-makers will create rain and clouds at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Lewiston Public Library kids’ room, 200 Lisbon St.

Democrats to meet in Minot

MINOT — The next meeting of Minot and Mechanic Falls Democrats will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the Minot Town Office, 329 Woodman Hill Road. 

Food pantry seeks donations 

AUBURN — The High Street Congregational Church Food Pantry has ongoing needs for the following items: peanut butter, canned vegetables, soup, canned pasta, canned meats, canned fruit, dry cereal, baking items, soup, crackers and toilet paper.

Auburn United Methodist Church collects items for the pantry. Donations may be brought to 439 Park Ave.
