LEWISTON — Music Director Nan White will lead the Midcoast High Winds Choir this Wednesday, May 30, at the Oasis of Music, Trinity Church, 247 Bates St., for a half-hour performance beginning at 12:30 p.m.  The Midcoast High Winds Flute Choir is a nonprofit group of amateur flutists dedicated to exploring the emerging repertoire for flute choir.

The Choir is in its second year together and has performed 10 concerts this year in libraries, churches and senior residences.   Musicians in the group include Eileen Bonine, Ann Durkin, Alicia Gamow, Candi Hine, Amelia Jenkins, Carolyn Lanigan, Carol McMullen, Ashley Powers, Christine Powers, Karen Renton, and Nina Spacek.  The selections for this program include classical music from the 17th to 20th centuries.

The group rehearses in Bath on Wednesday afternoons and will have two openings for new players in the fall, White said.  The choir’s Facebook has more more information.

This will be the last Oasis of Music performance of the season.  Admission is free.  Programming will resume in September.  Musicians interested in performing at the Oasis should contact curator Greg Boardman at 344-3106.
