NORTH BERWICK — The Lewiston volleyball team won its third consecutive match, overcoming a first-set loss to defeat Noble in four sets 23-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-13 on Saturday.

Kaitlyn Shannon tallied nine kills, digs and eight aces for the Blue Devils (3-3), and Ava Marquis added five aces and five digs. Mika Torres notched a team-best nine assists, while Ella Gahagan finished with three kills and four assists.

Noble won the JV match 25-22, 25-16.

FIELD HOCKEY
EDWARD LITTLE 3, HAMPDEN 1: The Red Eddies (4-3) pulled past the Broncos (1-6) through a pair of fourth-period goals in Hampden.

The contest was tied 1-1 heading into the final quarter. Leah Thibodeau set up Kassidy Lobb for the go-ahead goal with 10 minutes remaining, then Helena Moon added a goal for Edward Little with 1:49 left.

Thibodeau score the game’s first goal with 4:03 to play in the first quarter. The Red Eddies continued to fire shots on Hampden goalie Jada Bilodeau, but they didn’t get any more past her until the fourth. Bilodeau finished with 20 saves.

Anna Napolillo tied the game at 1-1 with a Broncos goal with two minutes left in the third quarter.

FREEPORT 6, POLAND 0: Emily Groves collected two goals and an assist, and Reed Proscia had a goal and two assists as the Falcons (6-1) downed the Knights (1-6) in Freeport.

Ellie Foss, Anna Maschino and Sophia Brown also scored, while Sophie Bradford, Liza Flower and Kam Lizotte each had an assist. Freeport goalie Maddie Kryzak needed just one save.

BOYS SOCCER
EDWARD LITTLE 5, BANGOR 1: Dayow Daud netted three goals as the Red Eddies (3-3) booted the Rams (1-5-1) in Auburn.

Ngengele Adolphe and Vladmir Luemba also scored for Edward Little. Breccan Albert, Ben Cole, Thiago Linhares and Logan Martin-Mayo each had a shutout. Logan Martin-Mayo made one save.

Jake O’Donnell set up Yostin Yax for Bangor’s lone goal. Goalie Graeme O’Neal stopped three shots.

TELSTAR 4, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 1: The Rebels (1-4-1) scored twice in the first half and twice more in the second to secure their first victory of the season, on the road against the Phoenix (1-4-1) in Jay.

Cyrus Mills, Kayan DeGruttola and Connor Deprey scored goals for Telstar. Goalie Adam Stephenson stopped three shots.

Jonathan Hines scored Spruce Mountain’s goal off an assist by Myles Godbey. Trevor Hogan made two saves.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 6, NYA 1: Two goals apiece from Noah Hebert and Ben Cobb highlighted the Patriots (4-3) victory over the Panthers (3-3) in Gray.

Logan Inman and Griffin Richmond contributed a goal apiece for Gray-New Gloucester, and Luka Rosolino, Nolen Swett and Andrew Keddy each recorded assists.

Nathan McGillicuddy scored North Yarmouth Academy’s goal.

MORSE 3, LEAVITT 1: Exaucee Namwira scored twice to pace the Shipbuilders (3-3-1) past the Hornets (1-6) in Turner.

Chase Roth-Wells also scored for Morse, while Peyton James, Silas Green and Christian Hallowell each contributed an assists. Goalie Waylon Rhorer made eight saves.

Logan Berube netted Leavitt’s goal off an assist from Brayden Greenlaw. Vanya Bezhenar stopped 12 shots.

GIRLS SOCCER
MORSE 5, LEAVITT 1: Edie McKay had a hat trick and an assist as the Shipbuilders (4-3) earned the win in Turner.

Morse goalkeeper Riley Walters had nine saves, including one on a penalty kick. In the second half, Walters played striker and scored a goal on a breakaway. Shea Brochu scored Morse’s other goal.

Morse finished with 12 shots to nine for Leavitt (1-6).

LAKE REGION 2, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1: Kayli Goodwin scored twice and Jordan Blanton stopped nine shots as the Lakers (5-3-1) edged the Patriots (3-5) in Gray.

Caitlin Butler scored from Ellie Schlichting for the Patriots. Abby Joyce made six saves.
