SOUTH PARIS — At this year’s Jack O’Lantern Spectacular at the McLaughlin Garden & Homestead, one can choose from three evenings to experience a number of hand-carved pumpkins lighting pathways throughout the 97 Main St. garden.

Months of planning and weeks of labor and creativity are invested by staff and volunteers into making this one of the garden’s most well-attended events.
The Jack O’ Lantern Spectacular is set for 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 19-21. Admission costs $8 per person, or $15 for two guests 2 years and older, and is payable at the door.
A warm beverage, popcorn, and use of the decorated photo booth in the barn are included in the admission fee.
McLaughlin’s is a nonprofit public garden; all proceeds from its events and programs directly support garden operations and its mission to cultivate a beautiful and healthy environment where discovery, creativity and connections are nurtured.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
