I strongly support Rep. Kristen Cloutier for reelection to the Maine House of Representatives. As Assistant House Majority Leader, she has been pivotal in leading and advocating for her constituents in House District 94. Her service on the Taxation Committee and the Committee on Appropriations and Financial Affairs showcases her dedication to fiscal responsibility. Rep. […]

Valerie Abruzzese: Glad to hear Golden say he was OK if Trump wins
I was pleasantly surprised to see Jared Golden had said that Trump was going to win, and that he was OK with it. I don’t expect anyone to agree with any politician on every single issue, but it was refreshing to see a Democrat acknowledge that Trump winning isn’t the end of the world. Unlike […]
Bob Mennealy: Democrats work hard. Vote blue.
In the summer of 1969, I begged Lewiston Public Works Director Roger Pruneau for a job. He said the only job they had open was on a trash truck, and college kids had never done well on a trash truck. But, my begging convinced him and I was hired. That summer I also worked nights […]

Bettyann is a graduate of West Point and served in the Army as a helicopter pilot. She has legislative experience as a former state representative. In the Legislature Bettyann worked to strengthen support systems for […]

Her service has included eight years as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army after graduation from the U.S. Military Academy at West […]
Hunter Kissam: If Golden wants a different outcome, he isn’t powerless
Jared Golden’s complacency, moral ambiguity, and political opportunism must be strongly condemned. As a former campaign volunteer for Jared Golden, I must condemn his comments publicly and as loudly as possible. Rep. Golden has the opportunity to push the Democratic Party the way he wants it to go. If he wants to see a different […]
Froma Harrop: Stop obsessing over population
With birthrates falling and population growth flattening, there’s allegedly a crisis even though the number of Americans today, 336 million, is almost double that of 1960.
Lyn Lewia: An open letter of apology to my former students
As a Maine educator for 38 years, I always stressed to my students that their opinions on candidates and issues only really make a difference if they vote. Regardless of the outcome of the election, by voting we have utilized our power to its fullest extent. I’m sorry to say I was wrong. It now […]
Sarah Doucette: Prioritizing victim safety in domestic violence related crimes
Some 75% of women killed by their abusers are murdered after attempting to leave or successfully leaving
Cal Thomas: Supreme court protects all presidents
The prosecution of a former president might become a politically poisonous cycle which is why the Court’s decision was correct.
