After Cyrus Lavars, 25, of Lisbon Falls — known as “Uncle Cy” — died Sept. 27 from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident, more than 50 of his family members and friends rallied to help construct a casket in early October out of a large pine tree.

Lisbon Falls woman completes Triple Crown of Hiking
On Sept. 14, Elysha Dyer, 28, of Lisbon Falls became one of only 396 people in the world to have completed the Triple Crown of Hiking, a feat accomplished by successfully hiking the Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail and Continental Divide Trail.
