Pam Harnden, of Wilton, has been a staff writer for The Franklin Journal since 2012. Since 2015, she has also written for the Livermore Falls Advertiser and Sun Journal. She covers Livermore and Regional School Unit 73 school board meetings. She writes about people and community events in the greater Franklin County area and is the go-to person for school robotics competitions. At 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, organizers plan to place 55 wreaths on veterans’ graves.
VFW supports Wreaths Across America, will decorate cemetery with wreaths
At 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Livermore Falls a wreath will be placed at the grave of Frank L. Mitchell, for whom VFW Post 3335 in Jay is named. It is one of 55 wreaths that will be placed on veterans’ graves there, including those for whom other local veterans organizations are named.
One free Christmas meal returns, another not happening
A free Christmas meal will be served at the American Legion in Livermore Falls but the one that has been hosted by the 3C Society in Wilton won’t be held this year.
