RUMFORD – The wedding of Megean Alizabeth Melcher and Daniel Jay Eggert was held at 11 a.m. on Oct. 16 at the Rumford Apostolic Church in Rumford. Pastor David Willhoite officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Eggert is the daughter of Michael and Yvonne Melcher of Carthage. Mr. Eggert is the son of Thomas and Brenda Eggert of Dixfield.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white gown with beads and sequins on the bodice and she carried a bouquet of roses and carnations.

Ashley Briggs of Norway attended as matron of honor for her best friend. Stephen Pulk performed the duties of best man for his friend and ushers were Michael Melcher II, brother of the bride, and Eric Lloyd, friend.

A reception followed at the Sons of Italy Hall in Rumford. The couple is residing in Dixfield.

The bride received a bachelor’s degree at the University of Maine at Farmington. She is employed for SAD 21 at Canton Elementary School.

The bridegroom attended Central Maine Community College and is employed at Towles Hardware Store. He is also a member of the Maine Army National Guard.
