The junior was able to fit swimming into her busy schedule this winter and finished the season with a Class A state title in the 50-yard freestyle.
Sun Journal Girls Indoor Track Athlete of the Year: Makenna Drouin, Lewiston
The senior earned three state titles and set a Class A record in the 55-meter dash.
Sun Journal Cheerleading Team of the Year: Lewiston Blue Devils
The Blue Devils earned a triple crown of titles, winning the KVAC and Class A North titles and then claiming the program's 12 state championship.
The name of the game in Unified basketball? ‘It’s a bunch of fun’
The sport offers co-ed athletic opportunities for students with intellectual disabilities and has seen significant growth since it was introduced at Maine high schools in 2015.
