Take it from a Vietnam veteran who’s lived in this state for over 70 years: we haven’t had a representative who can deliver for Maine veterans like Jared Golden in a long time.
He takes the time to listen to his fellow veterans, understands the issues we’re dealing with because he’s one of us, and just plain gets things done.
I’ve been impressed with his work to defend VA health care facilities in our state against closures, get better benefits for my fellow Navy veterans exposed to Agent Orange, and provide more mental health options for veterans.
He served in Iraq and Afghanistan and then felt compelled to go back to Afghanistan as a civilian. That shows commitment and a work ethic one rarely sees these days.
I don’t agree with the congressman on everything, but I trust his leadership and his judgment. That’s why I’ll be supporting him in November.
