Pam Harnden, of Wilton, has been a staff writer for The Franklin Journal since 2012. Since 2015, she has also written for the Livermore Falls Advertiser and Sun Journal. She covers Livermore and Regional School Unit 73 school board meetings. She writes about people and community events in the greater Franklin County area and is the go-to person for school robotics competitions. Pam is a member of the Old Crow Indian Band and a supervisor for the Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District. She enjoys cooking, gardening, flower arranging, reading, music and spending time with her grandchildren. Pam has a bachelor's degree from the University of Maine at Orono and has been involved personally and professionally with numerous agricultural endeavors.

The events of September 11, 2001 were remembered Wednesday evening during a program in Union Park in Livermore Falls.
Prayer services in Farmington for those killed or injured in blast
Two prayer services were held Monday night for Captain Michael Bell, who was killed in an explosion earlier in the day and those injured in the blast.
Farmington Fair closed today out of respect
FARMINGTON — Out of respect for the people killed and injured this morning at the LEAP building, 313 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington Fair will be closed today, Monday, Sept. 16. The ride special that was scheduled for today has been moved to Thursday.

As this reporter drove into the parking lot behind the Franklin Journal in Farmington, a mushroom caught the eye. Stopping to take a picture led to the discovery of more mushrooms, a chipmunk nibbling on berries and a toad perched right beside the office steps.
