South Portland warns park visitors about pond algae that can kill dogs
The parks and recreation department is warning people to keep their dogs away from a blue-green algae bloom in the pond at Hinckley Park.
Farmington turns 225 – Happy Birthday!
Farmington Historical Society celebrated the towns’ 225th birthday at the North Church on Monday night. About thirty members attended the potluck dinner, played period party games and enjoyed birthday cake.
Wilton’s Forster Mill is no more
Demolition of Forster Mill has been completed. Once final sign-off from Maine Department of Environmental Protection and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is issued, town officials will consider future use of the site.

The Farmington Water Department recently made improvements to its systems. The department serves about 1,600 customer in Farmington, Temple, and Wilton.
A colorful race is in the books
